Thank you I'm very pleased of finding this old record in cd format.
Tradition, emotion. Anyway, it's too bad nobody (even Joan) makes music like this anymore.
Among these, Virgin Mary in particular is a standout. Peter Schickele's arrangements of course are a critical component.The remaster is great, and the bonus tracks are a very welcome addition.
I bought this album on vinyl in my teens, and it immediately became one of my favorites. I don't know.
All in all, highly recommended. I frequently played it outside of the Christmas season, and always found it evocative of not only the spiritual element of Christmas, but something else as well that I cannot quite describe.
Some have called it melancholy; there's a trace of that as well.
Joan Baez rules. I have loved this album for 30 or 40 years (). and so glad to have it remastered and as a CD.
She was youngand her voice like a bell. Beautiful re-mastering of her original record.
The sound is crystal clear, and Joan's voice is even more perfect than I remember. It was Christmas, and I had an itch to hear this album. It's a treasure. This CD will take you back, and take you higher than ever. I considered burning a CD off the old LP. I'm glad I didn't.
